This project in Brunswick, Carriacou, commenced in May 2014, it involved the demolition of a dilapidated timber ” Ginger bread ” house and the construction of an elevated timber, two bedroom structure. The house was designed and built by KBCS, it’s a modern look of the traditional wooden homes that prevailed on the island in the 1970’s and prior. The interior is designed with a finished look to hide the timber studs and joints. The project was developed further with the rehabilitation of the ground floor to include a laundry room and single bedroom apartment. Both floors have been designed with an open concept to facilitate efficient ventilation.
